THEY ARE NOT LUXURY…..THEY ARE A MANDATE AT CIJS!!
Leaders in Progressive Education
CIJS is launching our “Innovation Studio” program for the 24/25 school year. Enroll Now!!!….Don’t miss the excitement. EVERY k-5 student will participate weekly in this program.
What is the CIJS “Innovation Studio”? A combination of research, robotics and coding.
The Innovation Studio will encourage students to design, build, and innovate, promoting problem-solving and hands-on learning and will bring their Reggio inspired ideas to life!
Example projects: A CIJS Scholar who wants to explain the rotation of a planet, may use motors and program them to move according to its speed. A scholar studying electricity may demonstrate that concept by creating circuits. A scholar who is interested in researching the water cycle, may create a “stop motion animation” to share about what they learned.
CIJS Scholars cultivate a sense of curiosity through guided research projects and are encouraged to explore topics of interest, fostering critical thinking and information gathering skills. They will become innovators, engineers, computer scientists and life-long learners!
In the Innovation Studio students learn about Robotics and build their own robots! Learning Robotics develops problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and computational thinking. They learn basic programming concepts, algorithmic reasoning, and how to work with simple coding languages. Additionally, hands-on robotics activities will help them understand engineering principles, teamwork, and foster creativity.

CIJS Bucket Filler Pledge
Students from CIJS spend time daily encouraging each other to treat their peers with kindness and respect.
I promise to be a bucket filler and not a bucket dipper. I will be kind, helpful, respectful, and treat others the way I want to be treated. I will try to intentionally fill a bucket everyday.
